Children For Adoption

Need to find website that offers extremely special needs children for Adoption?

The page has a lot of high risk special needs kids, in a lot of poor countries that need to be Adopted quickly.
Oh, thanks!!!!! ReecesRainbow is exactly what I was looking for, I found the site a few years ago…and just got to the point in my life where I can actually work on adopting one of these beautiful Babies.

www.reecesrainbow.org has a listing of “at risk” kids that are getting ready to be institutioanlized. They are not all extremely special needs either. They can have Down syndrome (Reese’s main ministry) or even just blindness or can’t walk. Once these children leave the baby home at 4-5 years old, they are mostly kept in bed and become retarded (if they wern’t already) I have read that many die before reaching adulthood because of the conditions. Once in the institution, they are no longer available for adoption. This is in Russia by the way. Hope this is the page you were looking for.

Adoption as a Ministry, Adoption as a Blessing

Adoption as a Ministry, Adoption as a Blessing

$13.99

“”Abba, Father ” Of all the pictures the Lord uses to describe His relationship with believers, that of a loving father to adopted children is perhaps the most tender. As the body of Christ observes families who have lovingly welcomed adopted children into their midst, we gain a greater appreciation of our own adoption into the family of God. Exploring what Scripture says about adoption and the value of children, Michelle Gardner demonstrates that adoption can be God’s first choice for some lives. Weaving her own children’s heartwarming adoption stories throughout the book, Michelle presents a new challenge for believers to do something drastic for a child. Adoption as a Ministry, Adoption as a Blessing explores: – what the Bible says about ministering to children in need of families – how the church can minister to adoptive families – whether it is right to spend a great deal of money on one child’s adoption – whether domestic or international adoptions are more worthy – the blessings of adoption If you are touched by adoption in any way, this book will give you a new perspective on the Biblical significance of this unique relationship. Michelle Gardner, the Director of Kingdom Kids Adoption Ministries, is a graduate of Multnomah Bible College. She and her husband Steve were missionaries with CBInternational for several years. Steve is now Pastor to Children and Families at Fourth Memorial Church in Spokane, Washington. They have six children, three of whom are adopted.”

The Open Adoption Book: A Guide to Adoption Without Tears

The Open Adoption Book: A Guide to Adoption Without Tears

$13.95

“Updated for a New Paperback Edition, the Definitive Guide to Open Adoption, by the founder of the Open Adoption Movement The exploding popularity of open adoption today underscores what adopting parents, birthparents, and many adoption experts now maintain: Open adoption is the healthiest, most humane, and fastest method available. It’s better for the birthmother, because she (not lawyers or social workers) decides the future of her child. It’s better for children, because they’re raised without the shroud of secrecy and stigma that accompanies most closed adoptions. And it’s better for adopting parents, because it dramatically shortens the time it takes to obtain a baby, from an average of seven years to under one year. As director of one of the country’s leading open adoption agencies and founder of the first nationwide network of open adoption organizations, Bruce Rappaport has facilitated thousands of successful open adoptions and acquired an intimate understanding of the most common and heartfelt concerns of parents seeking to adopt a baby. Interweaving personal stories and real-life experiences of adopting parents, birthparents, and adopted children, he answers the questions clients most frequently ask:> * What is an open adoption? How does it differ from traditional adoption?> * Will I ever feel like a real parent if my child’s biological mother knows I’m raising her child? Will she interfere?> * What if the birthmother changes her mind after the adoption?> * How long will it take to get a child?> Documenting answers with extensive personal experience and research, Dr. Rappaport paints a reassuring yet realistic picture of the open adoption process. The result is a highly informative, deeply moving book that will help many people realize the greatest joy life can offer.”

Adoption Joys: They Expected a Miracle

$28.95

“The softer side of the abortion debate … In contrast to the front line war of words that emanate with most protest views, Doris takes us behind the scenes into real life drama. The stories contained in this book will make you smile, cry, and find a place in your heart for hurting people that are usually blurred out of the media headlines. As a Pastor, I appreciate the caring way she approaches the issues and the caring hands that she reaches out with to touch hurting hearts. Pastor Rudy Bond New Life Worship Center, Tyler, Texas Doris has gathered a treasury of hope and joy surrounding the adoption process, including Scriptural encouragement and honesty about the fears and challenges involved. This book is a testament to the hand of God with even the least of these. Sara Maynard is a Texas attorney, specializing in representing children. She is Board Certified in Juvenile Law. ADOPTION JOYS, THEY EXPECTED A MIRACLE, explains God’s plan for unplanned pregnancies through moving testimonies of families who have experienced the joy of adoption. As the mother of two adopted children and one adopted grandson, I found myself rejoicing with the families through their stories. This book will be an effective tool to encourage couples to consider adopting children to complete their family. Birth parents will also understand the joy their baby will bring to the adoptive couple; and, perhaps, cause them to consider releasing their baby for adoption. God patterned adoption by adopting us into His family through His Son Jesus hrist. May this book challenge birth and adoptive parents to allow children to experience God’s unconditional love through the gift of adoption. Judith E. Shalllcross, Retired Christian School principal.”

“Daddy, please send mommy to find me! After years of gut-wrenching struggles, almost a half a million in adoption expenses, months of separation, hours and hours of pleading prayers on our knees and silently in our hearts, this was it, and there she was. The Gathering is the account of an incredibly courageous woman. The Gathering is the story of a mother, with the support of her husband and children, who searched for her missing children in the jungles of the Marshal Islands, the poverty-choked country of Vietnam, and the corrupt country of Haiti. The Gathering is a story of a family that fought and struggled to find their children in the U.S. through private adoptions and state foster-care systems. The Gathering is an incredible story of faith, hope, and miracles. This is their story.”

Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches

Adopted for Life: The Priority of Adoption for Christian Families and Churches

$15.99

“>A stirring call to Christian families and churches to be a people who care for orphans, not just in word, but in deed. >The gospel of Jesus Christ-the good news that through Jesus we have been adopted as sons and daughters into God’s family-means that Christians ought to be at the forefront of the adoption of orphans in North America and around the world. >Russell D. Moore does not shy away from this call in Adopted for Life, a popular-level, practical manifesto for Christians to adopt children and to help equip other Christian families to do the same. He shows that adoption is not just about couples who want children-or who want more children. It is about an entire culture within Christianity, a culture that sees adoption as part of the Great Commission mandate and as a sign of the gospel itself. >Moore, who adopted two boys from Russia and has spoken widely on the subject, writes for couples considering adoption, families who have adopted children, and pastors who wish to encourage adoption.”

“Fetal Alcohol effects… bonding attachment disorder… self-abusive… violent, destructive, aggressive… fire starter… _______________________________________________________________ Happy, successful, easy adoptions are a reality Many times the children are no more or less difficult to parent than average. However, sometimes raising adopted kids is extremely difficult. Are you really prepared to adopt? Read on as experienced foster, adoptive and even grandparents share stories of success, but also of struggles. Many entered adoption unprepared and were quickly overwhelmed. We wondered why our parenting methods failed. Why didn’t our love heal these children? Why were our previously happy families now falling apart? We lacked vital information about invisible disabilities; we didn’t know how profoundly neglect damages an infant. We didn’t realize we’d signed up to be missionaries to miniature heathens – nor that a spiritual enemy opposed us. Perhaps we assumed the natural state of man, apart from negative influence or defective genes, would be an ideal person; in the Garden of Eden… maybe. We’re not in the Garden anymore Before you adopt, pray for protection and guidance – and be sure you read This Means War This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength…’ (Isaiah 30:15a NIV)”

Aaron is his parents’ only biological child. His four internationally adopted siblings arrived with severe health problems and psychological wounds: Meredith suffered from birth defects and was never expected to walk; Jamie had cerebral palsy; Jordan had his first heart catheter when he was five; and Michelle had endured serious trauma as a child back in India. All five shared a close bond as children. However, by the time Aaron reached early adulthood, he felt distanced from his sisters and brother. In search of a way to reconnect with his family, Aaron traveled to 23 cities across the globe to trace his siblings’ origins. He visited the orphanages where they had lived, met the people who had taken care of them, and immersed himself in the world of orphans around the globe, visiting slums in India, a village on the North Korean border, and a tribal settlement in an Ethiopian rainforest. My Family, A Symphony is Aaron’s story. Poignant and engaging, it recounts the exploration that gave him new perspective on his family members and the exceptional circumstances that brought them together.

Infertility, Adoption And…Say, How’s the Weather?

$20.99

“Infertility, Adoption and]Say, Hows the Weather? is the true story of Gracie Longshore, who experienced the heartbreak of infertility. Then she and her husband Kevin experienced the joy of adopting their son Dmitry from Russia. Gracies joy turned to anguish when Dmitry (whom she loved very much) became too violent to continue being able to live with her and Kevin. For several months, Gracie searched for, and found, another family to take care of Dmitry. Unfortunately, what happened with the Longshores is typical of parents who have adopted a child diagnosed with reactive attachment disorder. As Gracie tells you the story of her family, she weaves in the Christ-centered spiritual lessons she learned, along with her infertility poems and communion meditations she wrote. Come and take Gracies hand as she leads you through her journey of motherhood and being a Them. Gracie Longshore graduated from high school in 1977. Three years later, she received her associate of arts degree in writing. Gracie has worked in the healthcare industry for sixteen years and thoroughly enjoys helping doctors and nurses get the medical reports they need for the care of their patients. Her hobbies include counted cross-stitch needlework, and feeding and watching birds. She also likes to learn about other cultures, and history on a wide range of topics.”

There Is No Me Without You: One Woman's Odyssey to Rescue Africa's Children

There Is No Me Without You: One Woman’s Odyssey to Rescue Africa’s Children

$7.99

There Is No Me Without You is the story of Haregewoin Tefarra, a middle-aged Ethiopian woman of modest means whose home has become a refuge for hundreds of children orphaned by AIDS. It is a story as much about the power of the bond between children and parents as about the epidemic that every year leaves millions of children, mostly healthy themselves, without family. Originally a middle-class woman with a happy family life, Haregewoin fell into a deep depression after the death of her recently married daughter. But then a priest brought her two children, AIDS orphans, with nowhere to go. Unexpectedly, the children thrived, and Haregewoin found herself drawn back into daily life. As word got out, an endless stream of children began to arrive at her door, delivered by dying parents and other relatives who begged for her help, and, pushing against the limits of her home and bank account, she took more and more in. Today, Haregewoin runs a school, a daycare system, and a shelter for sick mothers. Without medication for her charges – some HIV-positive, some uninfected, and some infants trying to fight off the virus, but almost all of whom come to her terrified and malnourished – she forges on, caring for as many as she can handle. Increasingly, she also places them for adoption with families like that of journalist Melissa Fay Greene, who has two children adopted from Ethiopia. In Haregewoin TefarraÂ’s story, Greene gives us an astonishing portrait of a woman fighting a continent-wide epidemic.

A Dress for Anna: The Redemption of the Life of a Ukrainian Orphan tells the fascinating story of how God led Deborah and Rob Amend to adopt a handicapped preschooler from an orphanage in Ukraine, and intricately knit her into their family. Beginning with the circumstances that opened their hearts to adoption, continuing through the entire process, and culminating with the difficult adjustments for Anna as she experiences life in a new culture, this book honestly shares the struggles, grief, and joy the Amend family faced as they followed God down the rocky path of international adoption. This powerful narrative not only provides readers with a clear understanding of the often challenging aspects of adoption, particularly for special needs children, it also offers inspiration by illustrating just how much an average, ordinary family can do when listening to God and following His call.

 Adopted for Life

Adopted for Life

$19.36

The gospel of Jesus Christ–the good news that through Jesus we have been adopted as sons and daughters into God”s family–means that Christians ought to be at the forefront of the adoption of orphans in North America and around the world. Russell D. Moore does not shy away from this call in Adopted for Life, a popular-level, practical manifesto for Christians to adopt children and to help equip other Christian families to do the same. He shows that adoption is not just about couples who want children–or who want more children. It is about an entire culture within the church, a culture that sees adoption as part of the Great Commission mandate and as a sign of the gospel itself.

Throughout the book, Varon draws on personal anecdotes and the experiences of her clients to offer honest, insightful advice on every step of the adoption process. Publishers Weekly Herself an adoptive mother of two and a counselor who has helped thousands of clients through their adoption decisions, Varon candidly covers just about every issue of concern to single men and women who are considering adoption in this excellent guide. She starts at the beginning–with making the decision–and offers insights on a variety of crucial questions: How old is too old to parent? How much money do I need to adopt a child? Can I adopt if I had cancer five years ago? Are there right and wrong reasons for wanting to adopt? She then walks readers through the adoption process, from determining which child is right for you to different types of adoption, including international. She covers the ins and outs of choosing an agency and preparing for the home study–including whether or not potential adoptive parents should be open about their sexual orientation. Butterflies in the Wind: The Truth about Latin American Adoptions

Butterflies in the Wind: The Truth about Latin American Adoptions

$34.95

The book chronicles not only the adoption of their three children abroad, but follows each of their children (including their biological son) into young adulthood. It vividly depicts their difficulties in raising teenagers in a cross-cultural, transracial home, and also exposes the frightening conditions facing today”s kids in our public schools, including gang issues, drop outs, and culture clashes. It provides valuable insights to parents and non-parents as well. This book was a real eye-opener and awakened me to the harsh realities our teens must face in what I would have thought were quality schools. Although told from a parent”s point of view, they very effectively explored the emotions, indeed the angst, of their teenage children. –Jo-Anne Weaver, adoptive parent of a Chinese daughter placed by Los Ninos International, and Senior Acquisitions Editor of Education and Developmental Psychology for Harcourt Brace.
